Performance contracting

Service Areas:

H&H Group Holdings

H&H is an approved Energy Service Company (ESCO) for the State of Wisconsin that can enter into Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC) for State of Wisconsin owned facilities.

Performance contracting allows a facility to upgrade outdated equipment with new high efficient equipment without any upfront costs. The new equipment is paid through guaranteed energy savings.

What is an ESCO

An energy service company (ESCO) is a business that can provide a broad range of comprehensive energy solutions. An ESCO can contract with a state facility to perform an in-depth analysis of the property, determine ways to reduce energy use and lower utility bills, install the required equipment, and maintain the system to ensure energy savings during the payback period.

As an ESCO, H&H will provide the following services:

  • Identify and evaluate energy-savings opportunities that will help reduce overall maintenance costs
  • Develop engineering designs and specifications
  • Project manage from design to installation to measurement and verification (M&V)
  • Arrange financing
  • Education and training for facility managers and personnel and ongoing maintenance services
  • Guarantee that savings will cover all project costs

What is an ESPC

An energy savings performance contract (ESPC) is a partnership between a facility and an ESCO. The ESCO conducts a comprehensive energy audit for the facility and identifies improvements to save energy. Projects that are implemented for state facilities through a performance contract are financed by the State of Wisconsin Energy Conservation approved borrowing authority. As a contractor, we guarantee the recommended energy savings, and these savings go back to the borrowing authority.
